W. A. Deveraux (the A is possibly for Alan) was a UK fan from Surrey active in the 1940s and 1950s. He attended the Eastercon in 1944 and the Whitcon of 1948 and was a member of the British Fantasy Society. Futurian War Digest #35 reported that at the end of the first day of the 1944 convention:

Deveraux, Gillings & Akien [sic] decide that everyone must take everything much more seriously

... although it is unclear how seriously we should in turn take this.

He was a reviewer for Fantasy Review and published a single story in the John Carnell-edited Jinn and Jitters (1946). He also attended meetings at The Shamrock and later The White Horse and The Globe until at least 1954.

Note: there is an assumption here that the W. A. Deveraux who attended the 1944 Eastercon is the Alan Deveraux who wrote for Fantasy Review. This may be a flawed assumption
