1950 Census shows father Abe (Abraham Harry Moskowitz, b. ~1893, "Volinski Guberniya", now Volyn Oblast, Ukraine), Rose (née Gerber, b. ~1893, also in Volyn), "Paul" (i.e. Pearl), Sam, Herman, Helen, and Alfred living in Newark, New Jersey.

The parents of Henry Moskowitz (who was living near Three Bridges, NJ in 1950) were from an area near the modern borders of Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and southwestern Ukraine; Sam's parents were from an area now part of northwestern Ukraine.
