Also known as RISFA-N, RISFA-North is a Boston-area club founded in 1981 or 1982 by Topher Cooper, Beth Cooper, Morris Keesan and Lori Meltzer. It meets monthly on the first Saturday.

The name "RISFA-North" alluded to its inspiration in the much more laid back and social group in Providence, RISFA, in which many of the founders regularly participated, and it was created in part to provide a social alternative to the very organized (and at that time hyper-bureaucratic) NESFA.

Members of RISFA-North participated in the fannish plays produced at Boskone by the RISFA Players.

Other early members included George Flynn, Cynthia Hanley, and Jean Berman.

This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
