Gillian Polack

Dr. Gillian Polack, an Australian fan, writer and editor, was GUFF winner in 2014 and published Gillian's Book of Lists as her trip report. She found fandom in 1979 via the Melbourne University Science Fiction Association. She has contributed to many fanzines.

She has lived in Canberra since 2002 and was on the Conflux committee for seven years; she introduced popular historical banquets there. In 2010, she received the Best Achievement Ditmar Award for the Conflux Southern Gothic banquet. She was a co-convenor of FlyCon, the online convention, in 2009.

She has published numerous novels, short stories and nonfiction articles, and is the creator of the New Ceres Universe.

Polack holds doctorates in English and History and an M.A. in Medieval Studies and teaches at the Centre for Continuing Education, Australian National University, and at the Canberra Writers' Centre.
