(September 13, 1917 – March 3, 2019)

Chicagoan Frances Hamling served on the concom of Chicon II in 1952. With Jane Quirk and Elsie Janda, she ran Registration. By many accounts, it did not go well — fans complained that the process took hours, and the actual number of attending members is still confused. Frances also headed the auction committee.

She was married to fellow fan and publisher William L. Hamling, and worked as an editor on his Greenleaf Publishing Company periodicals, including the prozine Imagination and the men’s magazine Rogue.
