Donald Malcolm was an author and fan from Paisley in Scotland. He wrote fiction and non-fiction published in New Worlds, Nebula and the anthology series New Writings in SF, and two novels in the 1970s.
In 1964 he founded the short-lived Caledonian SF Group in Glasgow and through the pages of the BSFA's Vector proposed Scotcon which had it happened would have been Scotland's first convention.
In 1966 Peter Weston borrowed half of Malcom's name and combined it with half the name of Vector contributor Edward Mackin to create the pseudonym 'Malcom Edwards', several years before the appearance of a fan of that name.
Malcolm was toastmaster for Faircon '79.
