Costume-Con 40

Costume-Con 40, a costuming convention, was held April 1–4, 2022, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, Rockville, MD. Its theme was “Rogues, Royals, Renegades.”

The convention failed -- apparently spectacularly -- to make its promised room bloc and wound up with a $200,000 hotel bill which caused it parent club, the Greater Columbia Fantasy Costumers Guild, to dissolve the following year.

Costume-Con 41 was not held. Instead the Covid-19-postponed Costume-Con 39 succeeded this con in 2023, followed by Costume-Con 42 in 2024.
