Capricon 42 was a convention held February 3–7, 2022, at the Sheraton Grand Chicago in Chicago, IL, with portions online. The GoH was Catherynne M. Valente, the artist GoH was Gene Ha, and the Gaming GoH was Tanya DePass. Tori Carnall-Hawkins was chair. The theme was "Rockin' In The Outer Realms!"
