The 1956 Best Feature Writer Hugo was presented September 3 at NyCon II. This third year of the Hugos there was for the first time a shortlist of nominees, with the winner selected by voting by the members of the convention. This was the only year this Hugo (or anything like it) was awarded. It replaced the 1953 Excellence in Fact Articles Hugo which seems to have been otherwise identical. After 1956 this category was no longer awarded.
