The 2017 Worldcon was selected by the members of Sasquan in voting in 2015. The filing deadline was in February 2015.

The bidders were DC17, Helsinki in 2017, Montreal in 2017, and Nippon in 2017. There was also a New York in 2017 bid which appears not to have been a hoax bid, but didn't last.

1303 voters were needed to win, so Helsinki in 2017 won on the first ballot and ran Worldcon 75.
