Site Selection for the 1970 Worldcon was conducted by St. Louiscon, the 1969 Worldcon.
The bidders were Committee for Frankfurt in 1970 (dropped out early and probably supported Heidelberg), Bermuda in 1970, Tranquility Base in 70 (a hoax bid) and Heicon in 70. At St. Louiscon, Bermuda in 1970 and Tranquility Base in 70 dropped their bids, leaving Heicon in 70 unopposed.
Heicon was nominated by Hans Werner Heinrichs and seconded by Charlie Brown, Eddie Jones and Bob Tucker and was accepted unanimously. It went on to run Heicon '70.
