Sheryl Birkhead is a fanzine editor, writer, and artist. She was born, and lives, in Maryland, where she works as a veterinarian.
She began contributing to fanzines in the early 1970s, and during the mid 1970s, was the editor of The National Fantasy Fan. During the 1970s she became best known as a fan artist, and her illustrations have appeared in and on the covers of such fanzines as Opuntia, The Slan of Baker Street, Empties, Ash-Wing, Diversifier, and It Goes On The Shelf and many, many others. She won the Kaymar Award in 1975.
