Torque 1 attendance was 80-90. Attendees included Chandler Davis, John Robert Columbo, John Millard, David Awlard, Brad and Maureen Hawkins. Tucker showed film of 1950's Midwestcon conventions, talking about attendees visible on the screen. Committee had a $400 deficit.

Torque was a convention held in Toronto, Canada, organized by Taral. It was a "word-oriented" convention with no films or video room. In mid-1985, he announced that the next planned and announced convention was cancelled due to the amount of his time it required and he planned no more.
