He was an active fan, one of the Wheels of IF and a member of the Belfast Triangle, working on both Slant and Hyphen. He helped design the Tucker Hotel and was one of th best Ghoodminton players the world has ever seen. He co-authored Beyond the Enchanted Duplicator ... To the Enchanted Convention with Walt Willis. He also had a successful career as a science fiction writer.
