(???? -- )

Harold Lynch was a PSFS member (and President 1957-60) who one day said to Bob Madle, "Hey, Bob, I've got a great idea! Why don't we give awards for things like Best Novel and Best Magazine — sort of like the Oscars." The results were the Hugo Awards. He was a member of the Fellowship of the Ring, the Fanoclasts, and of the Philadelphia in 1953 Worldcon bid. He published the one-shot Panelzine with George Heap.
