Bubonicon 2 held in 1970 was, like Bubonicon 1, a dinner meeting in Albuquerque, NM attended by Don Wollheim. Chaired by Pat McCraw.

At that meeting, Bob Vardeman suggested the name Bubonicon in view of the prevalence of Bubonic Plague in New Mexico at that time. Jack Speer protested, but was outvoted.
