Ben Bova was an American SF writer and former editor of Analog. He lived in Boston for many years while a writer for Avco Everett Research and was active in NESFA.

He succeeded John W. Campbell as editor of Analog 1972-1978, and was then editor of Omni through 1982 before returning to full-time writing. He was president of SFWA from 1990-1992. He was GoH at Chicon 2000 the 2000 Worldcon. He was nominated for Best Professional Editor 1973-1980 , winning in 1974--1977, and 1979. He was also nominated for the 1971 Best Short Story Hugo, and the 1998 Best Non-Fiction Book Hugo

He died of Covid-19-related pneumonia.
