A successful bid to bring the 1975 Worldcon to Melbourne as Aussiecon 1. It was official launched at the 1970 Ninth Australian Science Fiction Convention in Melbourne. It also published a bidzine, the A75 Bulletin.

The committee produced a film starring Anti-Fan, directed by John Litchen, which toured US conventions to the Aussie bid's great benefit. Jack Chalker was responsible for much of this touring.
