Gale Burnick, a fan active in the 1970s, published Raunch and was one of the organizers of The Tucker Transfer. She organized Mondo*Con, Dubuquon I and Dubuquon II.

In 1983, she published two collections of short stories, Out of This World: Tales of Space with Allan Graubard and Secret of the Upstairs Room and Other Ghostly Tales.

She met author George R. R. Martin at a Philcon and married him in 1975; it lasted till 1979. She later married artist Jim Odbert.
