(???? – ????)

Vincent E. Manning, an Indiana fan, was a member of the Decker Dillies. He published Pluto with his brother, Marvis Manning, and was a member of Chicon, the 1940 Worldcon, and Denvention the following year.

Like all the Dillies, Vincent had gafiated by the end of World War II. However, he turns up again on the membership rolls of Chicon II in 1952.

Vincent’s other avocation was as a radio ham. The two brothers also had a farm.

Fannish sources and a 1941 newspaper article (see Decker Dillies) refer to Marvis and Vincent as brothers. There is no evidence in the public records that Marvis had a relative named Vincent, however. There are a number of Vincent Mannings in the census records in the first half of the 20th century, but none connected to Marvis' immediate family. The one photo available of Vincent taken in 1941 indicates he was probably in his 20s.
