A bid to run the 1985 NASFiC (opposite Aussiecon 2) as "Detention II" in a single hotel in Detroit, MI or Dearborn, MI. (For a time, the committee debated as to whether it was a "Detroit" bid of a "Dearborn" bid.

It was run by a coalition of fans from Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Ypsilanti and spearheaded by Steve Simmons and Dan Story. Other members of the bid committee included Jean Barnard, Tara Edwards, Tom Barber, Carol Lynn, Nancy Tucker, Howard DeVore, Brian Earl Brown, Denice Brown, Roger Sims, Fred Prophet, and George Laskowski, several of whom resigned before the vote.

It was organized by the Southern Michigan Organization of Fans (SMOofF), and tangled up in the AASFA Wars. (It also seems to have been called the Southeast Michigan Organization of Fans.)

See File 770 37, p. 7 for a long letter by Dan Story on the bid and File 770 39, p. 2 p19 for a brief additional report.

Along with Columbus in '85, it lost to rival bidder Austin in '85 in voting held at Constellation. See 1985 NASFiC Site Selection for details.
