Xeron was a fanzine published in the UK by Mike Ashley, John Quattromini, and Rob Hough through PADS.
Ethel Lindsay reviewed its third issue in Haverings 22 (July 1966):
The editors say this issue is dedicated entirely to "zany" content. At which I feel apprehensive; I always think it's better to say as little as possible along these lines if you are bent upon being humorous. The contents start with a Yarcon report – the contents page says this is by the editors but it is signed Gordon Bell. It is a very poorly written report – no proper details and very little explanation. There is some fiction by various contributors which, in my opinion, are very unzany; all the jokes are very old and tired. I wonder why so many British fans are so anxious to be humorous writers. It's the most difficult thing to be. There is a comic strip drawn by Terry Jeeves and written by Graham Hall: art better than text. A letter column minutely covers the previous issue; and the latter half of this zine contains a checklist of sf. What is wrong with this zine is something seemingly epidemic among British fans just now. They all want to run before they can walk, they all want to put out "zany" or humorous zines. It's ambitious and one should applaud that, I know. Stills I wish they would lower their sights a little and just concentrate on telling something simply; and forget that the word "esoteric" had ever been invented.
