Rot was a fanzine published by Mal Ashworth from 1955 until 1963 and revived briefly in 1984. Some issues appeared in OMPA and some of those additionally in FAPA.
Ethel Lindsay commented on the first issue in Scottishe 5 (December 1955):
Cover excellently done. I particularly appreciated the talk on foreigners, glad to know that I may even be All Right. It was really well carried out and Very Funny. Congrats to Sheila for the tale of Malcolm (so that's what Mal means!) Best letter - Dave Wood's.
John Brunner said of the same issue in Noise Level 5 (1955):
This is impossible to comment on because I have no typographicalerrequivalents for delighted gurgles on the keyboard. Weird and altogether wonderful.
