Fandom in the United Kingdom, has a long and very rich history producing such luminaries in the field as Arthur C. Clarke, Vin¢ Clarke, and Peter Weston (England) and Walt Willis and James White (Northern Ireland).

For an insightful look at the history of fandom in Britain, see Rob Hansen's Then. Caroline Mullan wrote “A Short Visual History of British Fandom.”

The term anglofan used in Fancyclopedia 2 has dropped out of use, but shows how British fandom was viewed at the time.
