Theresa Garey, a fan, author and poet living in Minneapolis, is a member of Minn-Stf. She was a member of The Workshop, The Lady Poetesses from Hell, and War. She was OE of Spinoff.

Her essay "Why I Like to Watch Other People Work" was selected for Fanthology '89. She edited two books of speculative poetry. With Mog Decarnin, she founded a Twin Cities sf poetry group. She wrote a nonfiction book on The Joy of Home Winemaking (William Morrow, 1996).

Terry was married to fellow fan Denny Lien from 1984 until his death in 2023. She has been suffering physical and mental health problems since the fall of 2019, and her friends have been reporting on her condition and daily activities on CaringBridge. Terry is now a resident of the Memory Care unit of Yorkshire of Edina Senior Living in Edina, MN.
