Seacon '84 (Eastercon 35, Eurocon 8), was a convention held at the Metropole Hotel in Brighton, UK over Easter 1984 (April 20-23, 1984). The GoHs were Pierre Barbet, Waldemar Kumming, Josef Nesvadba, Christopher Priest, and Roger Zelazny. Philip José Farmer had been selected as GoH but seems to have cancelled.

The committee were Arnold Akien, John & Marjorie Brunner, Chris Donaldson, Alan Dorey, Rochelle Dorey, John Fairey, Colin Fine, Ye Gerbish, Martin Hoare, Chris Hughes, Jan Huxley, Pauline Morgan, Paul Oldroyd.

The convention newsletter was The Brighton Early.

Membership was about 1700. The Metropole got bad reviews from fans for its dreadful treatment of fans and bad (but expensive) food. Fortunately, that would not be a problem three years later when the Worldcon, Conspiracy '87, used the Metropole. See Hotel Manager Wall.
