Scifaiku is a form of SF poetry inspired by contemporary international haiku. A typical poem is three lines containing about 17 syllables, but the rules aren’t rigid.

rays are no longer passé,

Tom Brinck explained the principles in his 1995 “SciFaiku Manifesto”], and the term and form have since become widespread, though stfnal haiku dates back well before then. Karen Anderson’s "Six Haiku" were published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in July 1962.
