Roy Vernon Hunt, a Denver-area fan and artist, discovered sf in 1929 with Edgar Rice Burroughs. He was part of the Denver Triumvirate who published The Alchemist, a 1940s fanzine. He was a member of the Colorado Fantasy Society in the 1940s.
His artwork appeared in many fanzines and on dust jackets of SF books in the 1940s–1950s, including Out of the Unknown by A. E. van Vogt and E. Mayne Hull (1948).
He was a curator and artist at the Colorado State Historical Museum.
