The first NASFiC was held Labor Day weekend 1975 in Los Angeles, California at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. The GoH was Harlan Ellison.

It was chaired by Chuck Crayne, and attendance was 1,100. It appears to have been put together by the LA in '75 Worldcon bid committee after it lost to Australia in '75, using the same facilities and date. Reports indicated that the programming was largely fringe-oriented.

The first NASFiC was not designated with a specific name.
