Mythcon XXVIII was held in August 1997 at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. The GoHs were Orson Scott Card, Wayne G. Hammond, and Christina Scull.
The theme of the convention was "J. R. R. Tolkien: The Achievement of His Literary Life"
