Minicon 34 was a convention held April 2 - 4, 1999 at the Minneapolis Hilton & Towers in Minneapolis, MN. Guests of Honor: Octavia E. Butler, Mark & Priscilla Olson, and David Nee.

It was run by a very large Executive Council, consisting of: Alice Bentley, Steven Brust, Liz Cooper, David Dyer-Bennet, Beth Friedman, Laurel Krahn, Fred A. Levy Haskell, Susan B. Levy Haskell, Lydia Nickerson, Patrick Nielsen Hayden, Teresa Nielsen Hayden, and Geri Sullivan. This was the first of the deliberately scaled-back Minicons and attendance was 1360 pre-registered and 1525 total.
