Michelle Muijsert was originally a New Zealand fan. She published the fanzine The Space Wastrel from 1980–1988 with with her husband, Mark Loney, and Julian Warner.

She moved to Australia in 1983 and became active in conrunning. She ran for FFANZ in 1983, DUFF in 1986 (with Mark Loney), and GUFF in 1990.
