Merav Hoffman

Merav Hoffman is a filker and a founding member of the bands Lady Mondegreen, The Funny Things, Goldberry and The Goat Rodeo. She also writes songs with Erin Bellavia and Rand Bellavia of Via Bella. She also frequently collaborates on songs and performances with Seanan McGuire, Batya Wittenberg, Ben Newman and Emily Lewis of Sassafrass

She chaired the NEFilk conventions Contata 5 and Contata 6, co-chaired Contata 7 with Joshua Kronengold and ran programming at Contata 8. She also ran programming for the online NEWhere conventions in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and ran the Lunacon 54 filk track.

Merav was nominated for the Rhysling Award for her poem "Zipcar in Heaven" in 2012, published in Inkscrawl. She has published further poetry and short stories which are listed on her website.

Merav is the director of the Harold M. Stein Memorial Filk Archive, and created a project to crowd-source identification of open filk sings.

She and her husband Jonathan Lennox have also mounted a project to preserve the legacy of Ariel Cinii aka Abby. They are currently touring East Coast conventions with 1300 of her original art art to distribute it into the community.

Merav was inducted into the Filk Hall of Fame in an online ceremony in 2021 during an FK-No, the online iteration of FilKONtario during the Covid-19 pandemic.
