(September 1, 1893 – April 9, 1974)

Marjorie Z. Wright (née Marjorie J. Zinkie) attended Nycon, the first Worldcon in 1939, with her husband, Weird Tales editor Farnsworth Wright.

Marjorie Wright had a degree in library science from the University of Washington. She worked as a librarian in Pocatello, Idaho, about 1925. In 1929, she married Wright; they moved to Michigan, where she pursued a master’s degree at the University of Michigan. Subsequently, they moved to Chicago, where Farnsworth worked for local newspapers and then Weird Tales.

We have no evidence of her independent involvement with the sf community; however, she attended a number of events with Wright. The couple had one child, Robert. All three of them attended a meeting of the QSFL on March 3, 1940. Wright had by then resigned his editorship due to ill health; he died a few months later.

FindaGrave entry.
