Alonzo P. Atkins was a Southern fan who lived in LA a good part of his life. He chaired DeepSouthCon 4 in 1966. He was one of the initial editors of Rally! and an editor of Grand Fenwick Gazette.

He was a member of ALA-APA and SFPA (of which he served as OE) and a number of other apae.

He was married, for a time, to Kathy Atkins.
