From Fancyclopedia 2, ca. 1959 |
More or less annual certificates in recognition of excellence presented to outstanding fans by the N3F. The FAPA institution which is sometimes called the Laureate Poll (right name: Egoboo Poll) doesn't present real Laureate Awards any more, but actually the custom was introduced to fandom here. Silkscreened certificates were awarded laureate and runner-up in each division (publishing, editing, writing, poetry, and artwork) as determined by a poll conducted by the VP and 2-4 others, including the Official Critics. The custom lapsed with the disturbances of 1945. |
They were, for a time, called the Neffy Awards.
