A Denver-area fan and con-runner who lived for years in Washington, DC. He is married to Mary Morman. He was a member of WSFA and later a leader of First Friday Fandom. He has worked on many conventions at every level (including multiple times as a Worldcon Division Head). He has chaired several WSFS Business meetings.

He chaired DatClave 1 in 1980, Smofcon 16 in 1998, the losing DC in '92 Worldcon bid (and was in Smoflahoma) and the winning Denver in 2008 bid which resulted in him chairing Denvention 3, the 2008 Worldcon.
