(March 8, 1932 – March 17, 2021)

James Webbert got into fandom at NorWesCon, the 1950 Worldcon in Portland, OR. He married Doreen Webbert in Florida in 1961, and they were jointly OE of SAPS. He was a member of SFPA.

He was the art auctioneer for most of the LepreCons, doing his best to squeeze every last cent out of the bidders. He also auctioned at CopperCon, World Horror Con, Fantasy Con and several of the charity auctions at various conventions. He was at all but one or two LepreCons starting with the first. He was on the committee for Seacon, the 1961 Worldcon in Seattle.

Originally from Utah, Jim moved to Seattle, then to Arizona by the late 1970s. He was a reserve policeman with the Seattle PD, spent 33 years in the Army Reserves (taught nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare), and was a chemist in real life. He was a gun and weapons specialist, shot in competitions, loved model rockets and HO trains, and had almost as many books as a small library. Then there was the SF and fantasy art collection that got its start around 1959, it could fill an art show.

Jim died in Phoenix, AZ, on March 17, 2021.
