James Gilbert Caughran was a longtime fan, active since he was a teenager in Lincoln, NE, in the 1950s, until his death. He began the process of bringing Fancyclopedia 2 to the web as Fancyclopedia 3 and was Fancy 3's first editor.
He was a cast member of The Musquite Kid Rides Again in 1960. He was a member of FAPA, The Cult and OMPA. He hitchhiked from Nebraska to Illwiscon in Chicago in 1958.
John Trimble published A Fanzine for Jim Caughran in May 1962.
Jim went to college at the University of California-Berkeley and earned a master’s degree and Ph.d. at the University of Michigan. He lived in Toronto at the time of his death.
