from Fancyclopedia 2 Supplement ca. 1960: Ray Nelson, not Martin Alger, is really responsible for this line. It occurs in Ray's article, "Thin Skins", which he illustrated with a cartoon showing just what he meant. The innocent victim has a knife in his back and a footprint across his face, in the drawing.
