An SF bookshop currently located above Abbey's Bookshop at 131 York St, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Galaxy has had numerous different locations over the years in downtown Sydney. Their first store (?)was in Bathurst St and was run by Shayne McCormack. The store moved around the corner into Elizabeth St, where it was managed by Ron Serduik and later by John Gaspar.

Gaspar was still the manager when Galaxy was moved once again, to Kent St, which was more or less directly behind the Abbeys Bookshop main store in York St. This Galaxy store was dominated by a huge hanging model dragon made by special effects wizard Lewis Morley, Jr. Staff included Graham "Garfield" Barnard and Phillip Knowles.

An ad in the conbook for Galactic Tours Convention, the 1986 Australian Science Fiction Media Convention, gives the address for Galaxy Bookshop as 203B Castlereagh Street.

An ad in the conbook for Constantinople, the 1994 Australian Natcon, gives the address for Galaxy Bookshop as 222 Clarence Street.

Galaxy moved once again, this time to York St, some doors down from the main Abbeys Bookshop, in a basement location. Their only competition in niche SF stories in Sydney was, between 1995 and 2000, the Dymocks SF Store located on the Lower Ground Floor of Dymocks main George St store and managed by Leigh Blackmore with his then-wife Glayne Louise Blackmore.

After some years of being at the basement location, Galaxy was reincorporated into the main Abbeys store on York St, upstairs.

Galaxy has for many years hosted author signings for local and overseas authors, and issues the regular online newsletter, Galaxy Newsletter.
