Eclare Hannifen (pronounced “ē‑clar‑ē,” formerly Hilda Hannifen, née Hilda Clare Hoffman), a California fan, gamer and artist, is a member of LASFS who has been active in fandom since the early 1960s. David McDaniel tuckerized her as "Miss Eclary" in his 1966 Man from U.N.C.L.E. novel The Vampire Affair. She started using the name in the 1980s, spelling it "Eclare."

She was a contributor to two APAs: Alarums & Excursions and Apa-L.

Hilda married Owen Hannifen in March 1968. They moved to the BArea near the end of 1968. The two were early players of D&D and introduced the game to many West Coast fen, including lengthy articles she wrote in her apazines. They also belonged to the SCA.
