E. F. De La Roi (Edwin Frederick) was a Nebraska fan and artist recommended to fanzine editors in MFS Bulletin 19.

Walt Dunkelberger was the first to report that De La Roi's ship, the USCGC Jackson, was lost at sea in a hurricane, and he with it.
