(July 6, 1935 – March 7, 2024)

Martin James Ditmar "Dick" Jenssen, aka Ditmar, was an Australian fan artist. He was a founding member of the Melbourne Science Fiction Club in 1952 and a member of the Amateur Fantasy Publications of Australia.

The Ditmar Awards were named for him, in return for his financing them at their inception. In 2002, and again in 2010, Ditmar received a Ditmar. (Other instances of fans receiving awards named after themselves were when Forrest J Ackerman received a Forry Award in 2002 and K. Martin Carlson a Kaymar Award in 1984.)

He gafiated after 1971, but became somewhat revenant beginning in 1993.

Professionally, he headed meteorology at Melbourne University.
