David Stephen Bratman is a BArea fan. He is a member of the Mythopoeic Society, for which he has been editor of the magazine Mythprint, awards administrator, member of the board of directors, and chair of the annual conference. He organized The Northern Kingdom and is a member of the Little Men. He was a member of ALPS, the American Tolkien Society, and Elanor. He was e member of FAPA and server as President.
He has written a large number of book reviews and compiled bibliographies and reader guides to the works of J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and other Inklings.
Bratman is an independent university library consultant. He is married to fan Berni Phillips.
