Dave Vanderwerf (AKA DAVe), a Boston fan in the 1960s, was the leader of the ill-fated Boston in '67 Worldcon bid, the founder of the Boston Science Fiction Society and the chair of Boskone 1 and Boskone 2. He edited two issues of Twilight Zine and seems to have been a member of MITSFS.

In 1968, along with Charlie Brown and Ed Meskys, he founded Locus (which eventually became SF’s trade journal) as a newszine to promote the Boston in 71 Worldcon bid.

He seems to have gafiated in the late ’60s.
