ConChord 5 was held October 6-8, 1989 at the Quality Hotel at LAX in Los Angeles. The GoHs were Bill Roper and Carol Poore. Cathy Cook MacDonald was Toastmaster and it was chaired by Paul Willett. There were 148 members.
The first annual Kazoo Awards were presented.
