Calvin Thomas Beck

(April 18, 1930 – May 14, 1989)

C. T. Beck was a New York fan and publisher active starting in the mid-1950s. He worked with Bhob Stewart to produce the movie magazine Castle of Frankenstein. He later was an actor.

According to Noël Carter, Beck was part of Robert Bloch’s inspiration for the character of Norman Bates in Psycho. His mother was known to call the police to report scurrilous activities at fan parties, according to Dick Ellington in Stf Trends 19.
