Charles Stewart Metchette, a fan from Windsor, Ontario (across the river from Detroit), was active in fandom during the 1940s and ’50s. The Michifen spelled his name Stuart and he is identified in some old photos as Steve (though the last may be a memory lapse). He was a member of the Misfits.

By 1950, he had moved to California, where he updated the game Interplanetary. He was the original chairman of Westercon 4.

He edited the fanzine Mutant.
