Bantam Books is an American publishing company currently owned by the German corporation Bertelsmann. It was formed in 1945 by Walter B. Pitkin, Jr., Sidney B. Kramer, and Ian and Betty Ballantine.

Since the early ’50s, it has been a major publisher of SF under the Bantam Books and Bantam Spectra names.

Current editors ate Anne Groell and Juliet Ulman. Previous editors include Betsy Mitchell.
